How to Automate Crypto Trading on Crypto.com Exchange With JorgAI: Keys, the IP Whitelist, and What the API Will and Will Not Do

JorgAI now connects to the Crypto.com Exchange. Members who keep crypto there can run their own rules on it: the AI scans crypto pairs around the clock, places spot trades inside the member's own Exchange account, and manages stops, trailing stops and profit targets from JorgAI's servers. The connection is an API key you create with trading permission and no withdrawal permission, so JorgAI can never move funds out.
This guide covers the setup step by step and, more usefully, the things we learned building and testing it with real orders on our own account: where the money has to sit, why a key can read your balance but have every order rejected, why stops work differently on this venue, and how Crypto.com's fees actually land on a fill. It is education, not advice.
Who this is for, and who it is not for
It is for members with a US Crypto.com Exchange account who want their crypto rules run automatically. The connection trades spot crypto pairs only. If you trade stocks as well, keep a stock broker connected on another JorgAI profile; a profile connected to Crypto.com switches itself to Crypto Only so the stock scans do not run on it. The connection is available in the JorgAI web portal. It is not offered in the iOS app, where crypto venues are not available.
Step by step: connecting Crypto.com to JorgAI
- 1. Make sure you have an Exchange account, not just the App. Crypto.com runs two products with separate balances. The App is the retail wallet; the Exchange is the trading venue with the API. The key you need lives on the Exchange, so sign up at crypto.com/exchange if you only have the App. A deposit made in the App stays in the App until you transfer it to the Exchange.
- 2. Turn on two-factor authentication on the Exchange login. Keys cannot be created without it.
- 3. Create the key. In the Exchange, click your profile, then Manage Account, then API Management, then Create a new API key. Crypto.com's own walkthrough has screenshots.
- 4. Set the permissions: Trading on, Withdrawal off. New keys default to read-only. JorgAI needs Trading. It never needs Withdrawal, and the key should not have it.
- 5. Whitelist JorgAI's address, 32.195.173.11. Crypto.com only lets a trading key place orders from addresses on its whitelist. Every JorgAI order leaves from this one fixed address, so you add it once. The connect panel in JorgAI shows it with a copy button.
- 6. Paste the key and the secret in JorgAI. Settings, then Broker, then the Crypto.com tile. JorgAI checks the key with a balance read before it saves anything, so a wrong permission shows up right there.
7. Fund the Exchange balance. Move dollars or stablecoins to the Exchange, set your position size, stop and daily loss limit, and switch auto-trading on when you are ready. The full walkthrough is in the help center and on the Crypto.com guide page.
What we learned testing it with real orders
We built and tested the connection on our own Exchange account with ten-dollar lots before offering it. Five things surprised us, and each one is now handled in the product:
- A key can read your balance and still have every order rejected. With Trading permission off, or the IP whitelist missing, Crypto.com answers reads normally and answers every order with code 40101, "Authentication failure". If your connection shows a balance but trades fail, the key's permissions are the first place to look.
- Crypto.com's API does not accept stop orders. A stop order returns "API_DISABLED". So on this venue JorgAI runs every stop, trailing stop and profit target on its own servers: the monitors watch each position and send the exit when the level is reached. A protective exit that misses as a limit order is re-sent at market, so a falling price cannot leave a position open. How JorgAI handles stops explains the mechanics.
- Market buys are sized in dollars and floor to the increment. Crypto.com fills a market buy for a dollar amount and rounds the coins down to the pair's increment, 0.00001 BTC for Bitcoin. A ten-dollar buy at $81,652 became 0.00012 BTC and the unbuyable twenty cents were returned. JorgAI adds a small cushion so a position sized by quantity lands on the quantity you set.
- Fees come out of the coin on buys and out of dollars on sells. On our fills the taker fee was 0.50% each way: 0.0000006 BTC taken from a 0.00012 BTC buy, and $0.045 taken from an $8.98 sell. A position bought as 0.00012 BTC therefore holds slightly less, and JorgAI sizes sells to what the account can actually deliver. The remainder is dust, which the platform ignores rather than trying to sell. How crypto fees compound covers why the 0.50% matters more than it looks.
- There is no paper environment for members. Crypto.com's test environment is for institutions, so this connection is live only. Members who want to evaluate JorgAI with simulated money can use the Alpaca paper connection first.
What stays the same on every venue
The rules are the member's and they are enforced the same way on Crypto.com as on any other connected account: position size per trade, a dollar cap per order, a daily loss limit that pauses buying, a cap on open positions, a confidence threshold the AI's signal must clear, and the stop and target attached to every entry. Auto-trading is off until the member turns it on. The AI's job is coverage, watching the pairs through the night and the weekend, when crypto never closes; the limits are what decide how much any one idea can cost. Our drawdown study is the reason the daily loss limit exists.
Security, in plain terms
The key and secret are encrypted before they are stored, never written to logs, and never returned by any JorgAI screen or API. The key has no withdrawal permission, so even in the worst case it could not move funds. The IP whitelist means the key only works from JorgAI's address, so a copy of it would not work anywhere else. You can revoke the key in Crypto.com's API Management at any moment, and JorgAI checks every connection a few times a day and tells you in the app if a key has stopped working. Connecting a trading bot to a brokerage account safely goes deeper on what to look for in any platform.
If you would rather have your rules enforced for you, with stops, a daily loss brake and position caps applied inside the Crypto.com Exchange account you already have, that is what JorgAI does. You can set them once and the rules hold through the weekend.
Quick answers
Can JorgAI trade on Crypto.com? Yes. JorgAI connects to the Crypto.com Exchange with an API key that has trading permission and places spot crypto trades by rules you set. It is available in the web portal, not in the iOS app.
What permissions does the Crypto.com API key need? Trading on, Withdrawal off, and JorgAI's address 32.195.173.11 on the key's IP whitelist. Without the whitelist, Crypto.com rejects every order with an authentication error while still answering balance reads.
Why does my Crypto.com balance show zero in JorgAI? Most often the money is in the Crypto.com App rather than the Exchange. They are separate balances; transfer to the Exchange and the balance appears.
Does JorgAI place stop-loss orders on Crypto.com? Not at the venue, because Crypto.com's API does not accept stop orders. JorgAI's servers watch each position and send the exit order when your stop, trailing stop or profit target is reached.
What are Crypto.com's trading fees? The published spot schedule starts at 0.25% maker and 0.50% taker below $10,000 of 30-day volume, falling with volume. On our own fills the taker fee was 0.50% each way, taken in the coin on buys and in dollars on sells.
