Smart position sizing
Smart position sizing automatically adjusts how much capital is allocated to each auto-trade based on the AI's confidence level.
How it works:
Instead of buying a fixed quantity for every trade, smart sizing scales the position size proportionally to the prediction confidence. Higher-confidence predictions get larger allocations; lower-confidence predictions get smaller ones.
Configuration (Settings > Trading):
- Enable toggle: Turn smart sizing on or off
- Base %: The minimum percentage of your sizing basis to allocate (default: 5%)
- Max %: The maximum percentage of your sizing basis to allocate (default: 15%)
- Position Sizing Basis: the number those percentages are a percentage OF. Three options: Cash (the default) sizes from settled cash; Buying power sizes from what your broker reports as spendable right now, which on a margin account includes margin; Equity sizes from your total portfolio value.
Example:
With base 5% and max 15% on the default Cash basis, a prediction at 70% confidence (if 70 is your minimum threshold) would allocate ~5% of your cash, while a prediction at 95% confidence would allocate closer to 15%.
Margin accounts: if your account runs mostly or entirely on margin (little or no settled cash), the Cash basis leaves sizing with nothing to work with and positions collapse to the minimum. Choose Buying power so your percentages apply to what your broker actually makes available. Positions sized from buying power can exceed your cash and will accrue your broker's margin interest; your Daily Spend Limit still caps the total.
Why use it:
- Concentrates capital on the AI's highest-conviction picks
- Reduces exposure on borderline signals
- Automatically adapts to your chosen sizing basis
