How JorgAI connects to Alpaca
- 1Sign up free at alpaca.markets if you do not already have an account.
- 2In JorgAI, go to Settings, then Broker, and pick the Alpaca tile.
- 3Click Sign in with Alpaca. You are sent to Alpaca's own login page, so your Alpaca password is never shared with JorgAI.
- 4Approve the connection on Alpaca's page and you are sent straight back to JorgAI, connected.

- 1Open your Alpaca dashboard and go to the API Keys section.
- 2Click Generate New Key and copy both the API Key ID and the Secret Key.
- 3In JorgAI, on the same Alpaca tile, expand the API-key option.
- 4Paste both keys and click Connect Alpaca.

Both paths end in the same secure connection. The Alpaca sign-in never exposes your password to JorgAI, and API keys are encrypted before they are stored, never logged, and decrypted in memory only when a trade is executed. Either way you can revoke access from your Alpaca dashboard at any time.

What to know before you connect.
The only supported broker with crypto
Alpaca is the one broker of the three that trades crypto through JorgAI. Note that crypto carries a maker or taker fee of roughly 0.25 percent per side, about 0.5 percent for a round trip, so it is worth setting crypto targets above 1 to 2 percent so fees do not eat the move.
Dollar-amount position sizing
Alpaca accepts dollar-amount orders, so position sizing does what you would expect. On brokers that only accept whole shares, sizing has to be converted to a share count first.
You do not need to write any code
The usual way to automate Alpaca is a Python script you write, host, and babysit. JorgAI is the alternative: you set risk rules, sectors, and aggressiveness in a dashboard, and every decision is written out in plain English in your activity feed.

Does JorgAI support crypto on Alpaca?
Yes. Alpaca is the only broker supported by JorgAI that trades crypto. Tradier and Charles Schwab do not offer it.
Are my Alpaca API keys safe?
Keys are encrypted before storage, never logged, and never returned in API responses. They are decrypted in memory only to execute a trade, and you can revoke them from your Alpaca dashboard at any moment.
Can JorgAI withdraw funds from Alpaca?
No. The connection has zero withdrawal permissions. It can place trades according to your rules, and your money stays in your Alpaca account.
Does it work with an Alpaca paper account?
