Is Jorg AI affiliated with Alpaca or Schwab?

Accepted Answer

No. Jorg AI is an independent application that uses Alpaca's and Charles Schwab's official APIs. You create and manage your own brokerage account directly. For Alpaca we only see the API keys you provide. For Schwab, sign-in happens on schwab.com via OAuth - Jorg AI never sees your Schwab password or two-factor code.

Does Jorg AI hold my money?

No. All funds are held in your own brokerage account with Alpaca or Charles Schwab. Jorg AI only has API access to place trades on your behalf. You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting on the Broker tab, or by deleting API keys (Alpaca) or revoking the connected app (Schwab) directly with your broker.

What happens if Jorg AI goes offline mid-trade?

Orders already submitted to your broker continue executing regardless of Jorg AI's status. Both Alpaca and Schwab process orders independently on their infrastructure. You can always log into your brokerage account directly to manage open orders. When Jorg AI comes back online, it will resume monitoring positions.

How accurate are AI predictions?

Accuracy varies by market conditions, timeframe, and asset class. You can review prediction history and accuracy in the Predictions page. Predictions are analytical tools for informed decision-making and are not financial advice. Always apply your own judgment and never risk more than you can afford to lose.

Can I use Jorg AI for crypto?

Yes, but only when you connect Alpaca. Crypto trading via Jorg AI runs through Alpaca's crypto integration. Schwab did launch retail Bitcoin and Ethereum trading (Schwab Crypto) in May 2026, but that is a separate product from the Schwab Trader API that Jorg AI uses. As of now the Trader API only exposes equity and options trading, so if you want auto-trading of crypto through Jorg AI, connect Alpaca. Crypto markets are open 24/7 while stock markets follow NYSE/NASDAQ hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday). The same profit targets and stop-losses apply to both. Crypto trading requires at least the Starter tier.

What data does the AI use for predictions?

The AI analyzes 200 days of historical price data (OHLCV), 22+ technical indicators (RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, SMA-20/50/100/200, Golden/Death Cross, Stochastic RSI, OBV, and more), multi-source news sentiment, earnings context (last 4 quarters EPS vs. estimates), sector relative strength, macro economic conditions (Fed policy, yields, VIX), SEC filing data (for stocks), and its own past accuracy for each symbol. All of this is synthesized by our advanced AI engine into a structured recommendation.

Can I use Jorg AI without a brokerage account?

No. You need a brokerage account with Alpaca or Charles Schwab to trade. Alpaca is free to open online at alpaca.markets. Schwab is a full-service broker at schwab.com. Pick whichever you prefer or already have.

How often are positions monitored?

Accepted Answer

The background worker checks all open positions every 2 minutes during market hours. It updates current prices, calculates unrealized P&L, and triggers auto-sells if profit targets, stop-losses, trailing stops, or min-hold conditions are met.

What is the trailing stop feature?

A trailing stop is a dynamic stop-loss that moves up as the price rises but never moves down. Set it as a percentage (e.g., 3%). If a stock's price rises 10% from your entry then drops 3% from its peak, the trailing stop triggers a sell. This lets you ride upward trends while protecting your gains. Configure a default trailing stop percentage in Settings > Trading.

What is smart position sizing?

Smart sizing automatically scales how much capital each auto-trade uses based on the AI's confidence level. Higher-confidence predictions get larger allocations (up to your max %), while lower-confidence predictions get smaller allocations (down to your base %). Enable it in Settings > Trading.

The circuit breaker pauses auto-trading when your daily realized losses exceed the 'Max Daily Loss' threshold you set in Settings > Trading. It prevents the AI from compounding losses during adverse market conditions. Auto-trading resumes automatically at the next market open, or you can manually unpause it.

How do I generate a report of my trading activity?

Choose a time period (This Month, Last Month, Last 3 Months, Last 6 Months, This Year, or All Time), then select one of four report types: Trading Activity Summary, Portfolio Statement, AI Prediction History, or Tax Export. Click Download to save the report as a JSON file. Reports contain only your personal data.

The auto-trader includes 6 advanced scanners that run throughout the trading day: a pre-market scanner (8-9:30 AM ET) for unusual pre-market moves, a momentum detector for intraday spikes, a news sentiment scanner for positive article surges, a discovery screen for new breakout symbols, a real-time WebSocket spike detector for instant +5% moves, and an adaptive scan that adjusts frequency based on your risk profile. All scanners fire immediately on worker startup.

Do auto-trade predictions count toward my monthly limit?

No. Auto-trade predictions are marked as automatic and are hidden from your predictions page. They do not count toward your monthly prediction quota. Only manually generated predictions count against your limit.

What is position sync?

Position sync (POST /trading/sync-positions) automatically imports positions from your Alpaca broker account into JorgAI's local database. It runs automatically when you open the Portfolio or Trading page. This ensures your view is always accurate, even for positions opened outside JorgAI.

Where can I see auto-trade activity?

You can review all auto-trade activity in your Trade History on the Portfolio page. Each trade shows whether it was manual or auto-traded, along with the entry price, exit price, and realized P&L.

The right sidebar is a collapsible panel available on every page except Settings. You can drag-and-drop to reorder items, triple-click column headers to cycle through desc/asc/off sorting, and resize the sidebar width between 200-400px. All state is saved to localStorage.

What is the multi-analyst prediction mode?

For Pro and Elite tier auto-trade predictions, Jorg AI uses multiple independent AI analysts that each evaluate opportunities from different perspectives (Technical, Fundamental, Sentiment). They vote on the predicted direction, and the consensus determines the final recommendation. This results in more reliable signals than a single analysis pass. Starter tier uses single AI analysis.

What are strong_buy and strong_sell?

The V3 prediction engine now supports 5 directions: strong_buy, buy, hold, sell, and strong_sell. Strong signals indicate higher conviction from the AI, with multiple indicators strongly aligned. The auto-trader treats strong_buy the same as buy for trade execution, but confidence scores tend to be higher for strong signals.

Can I generate monthly reports?

Yes. A PDF report generator script is available at scripts/generate_monthly_report.py. Reports are saved to the /reports/ directory and include KPIs, AI prediction accuracy, scanner activity stats, symbol-level analytics, platform statistics, AI-generated goals, and personal goals sections with supporting charts and tables.

What's the affirmation tile on my Dashboard?

It's a small daily reminder with a trader-focused quote and a time-of-day greeting. The quote changes once per day and is meant to set a calm, disciplined mindset before you check your numbers. It's not configurable today - if you'd like a way to turn it off or shuffle it, let support know.

Why does the auto-trader activity feed sometimes show 'skipped'?

Accepted Answer

Skipped means Jorg AI found a setup but decided not to place a trade. The most common reason is that you've already hit your daily auto-trade budget for that asset class - Jorg AI caps how many auto-trades it runs per day to keep things controlled. Caps reset overnight. You can also see skips when day-trading rules or your circuit-breaker is in effect.

How accurate is my Trade History?

After every sell, Jorg AI waits briefly for the broker to confirm the fill price and writes that real exit price into your Trade History. If the fill takes longer than a few seconds (slow market, illiquid symbol, after-hours), a background reconciler runs every 2 minutes and back-fills the exit price as soon as the broker reports it. Realized P&L is only computed once both the entry and exit prices are confirmed - never estimated.

Why is the symbol search bar so fast now?

JorgAI pre-loads the full tradable universe (every stock and crypto Alpaca supports) once when you open the app, then filters it locally on every keystroke. There's no round trip to the server between letters, which is why results appear instantly. The list refreshes every 24 hours in the background so new listings appear naturally.
